QuestionHi, I have a 2 year old male rottweiler. He disappeared a week ago for a morning, but came back. Then disappeared for a whole day, but came back. He has been gone now for 4 days...I've heard it has something to do with mating season...is this true and what are the chances that he will come back? PLEASE HELP!!
AnswerHi Helga
A intact male will wander further when a female is in heat, and can be gone for days at a time. However, the chances of him catching brucellois or a STD from a female that you know nothing about or become fatally injured rise every time he leaves home increases. That is a chance I wouldn't take with my animals. Do him a favor by either having him fixed or penning him.
