QUESTION: hi i have two terrier cross bitches, one has just come into season,how long before the other one comes into season they are sisters & the other one is older. ?
Is it safe to take them out on the lead for a walk while they have there season . ? thank you Joyce from Mandy

Typically when one female goes into heat, the next will follow shortly.  How old is the second female?

You can take them for walks on a lead, but be alert and carry a big stick because the girls will leave their calling cards. Even in your own backyard their "I'm available" scent can carry for blocks and blocks.

Are you using a harness or a collar when you walk?  My favorite trick is to swing the leash in front of me in a circular motion (much like a skipping rope not in a whipping action).  Every time the dog get pulls a head of me they get a tap on their nose from the lead.  They soon learn to heel and walk without pulling.
