Chihuahuas 3rd day heat...

My female Chihuahua had her heat recently on April 18th. I know the best breeding days are 9th, 11th & 13th day. But however, I didn't pay attention when my male Chihuahua were stuck inside with my female Chihuahua on her 3rd day of heat. It is the first tie on 21st of April. But my male Chihuahua is going to be with his show handler this 24th of April. I wanted to breed both. But I had no choice. I was wondering if you personally think she would take the breeding? Become pregnant if her first tie was on 21st of April and let's say if she did it again (2nd tie) with my male Chihuahua on 23rd of April. Do you think she would be pregnant?

If you don't think it will work out then do you think I should go ahead and breed her to my breeder friend's stud on 9th day? I don't want to use the other stud if she is actually going to be pregnant from my stud.

By the way, this is going to be her 4th litter and she weights 3 1/2 lbs while my stud is only 2 1/2 lbs. Both are AKC registered. I felt like I lost of track on breeding days but I swore that she had her heat on 18th of April because it was swollen pink and on 21st, it was more of redish but little. Not a lot.

Hi Lee -- I hope it's not going to be her 4th litter in a row. That is NEVER, EVER a good idea.

Females won't stand for a tie to occur so early in her heat cycle. Is it possible that she's further along that you suspect?  Has she stopped bleeding? When did her bleeding stop?

You may have to do a progesterone test to tell exactly when she's ovulating, everything else is a guesstimate.
