HI. I BOUGHT A 4 YEAR OLD COCKER SPANIEL LAST WEEK AND THEY TOLD ME SHE WAS BREAD WITH A TOY POODLE BUT WHEN I BROUGHT HER HOME I WAS LOOKING AT HER STOMACH AND NOTICED SHE HAS A TUMOR OF SOME KIND OF LUMP IN BETWEEN BOTTOM TITS..  I AM WONDERING IS IT EVEN SAFE FOR HER TO HAVE THESE PUPPIES IF SHE IS PREGNANT I KNOW I AM GONNA TAKE TO VET BUT I WAS REALLY WONDERING THIS BECAUSE BEFORE I TAKE HER I WANT TO KNOW RISK AND MAY TRY TO GET MONEY BACK ON HER THIS DIDNT HAPPEN OVER NIGHT SO I FEEL THEY KNEW THIS...

Hi Kim. It depends on what the 'tumor' is. It could be a cyst. However, because it is located close to the breasts, I would be really concerned about it. What the vet will most likely want to do first is to find out exactly what it is. If it is cancer, then he'll most likely want to try to remove it if it hasn't spread. I'm not sure what the lump actually looks like, but it may also be a hernia. At any rate, the first step is to figure out what it is and then go from there. After a diagnosis, your vet will then be better able to tell you what he thinks needs to happen. Pregnancy is a stress to a dog that's in good health.
