i need help figuring out when our pups are due

Hi my two boxers locked up and bred on Jan 24 and I think her puppies are due on the 26th of this month but I m not possitive. I was wondering if you could help me figure out which day they are due. Also I was wondering if you knew how old they have to be when they get their tails docked ? I was going to let the vet do it because I am not comfortable doing things like that. if you could also give me some advise on helping my female it would be greatly appreciated thanks

Hi Brittany,

Depending if she was ovulating at the time she should be whelping around the 29th. Give or take a day on either side.  The first sign for me typically has been when our female's have stopped eating and or drinking.

If your vet is going to do the tails, they should be docked at 2 or 3 days old.  

The best way to help your female is give her a quiet place to whelp (a box) or area, where there is no drafts and she can nest comfortably. Make sure she keeps her fluids up by giving her ice cubes if she won't drink.  If this is her first litter, make sure you are on hand to encourage and assist if she requires it.
