Pregnant Pit Bull

What Should I feed my Pit Bull while she is pregnant? Does the same food that a Human Mother eat to help make us smart and strong have the same effect with a Dog Mother? Any Vitamins or Suppliments + Dog food?

Answer
It's important to have your female on a quality food.  You can supplement with raw beef heart, organ meats or chicken. Folic Acid, extra fish oils and vitamins are all a benefit.  

What you DON'T want is to have her on a puppy food with high fat or protein levels.  It makes the pups larger in utero, which can cause problems with the whelping.  Better to put her on puppy food after the pups are born.
