My dog wont mount

Question
I have a chihuahua male and A friend of ours has a female he is wanting to breed, He brought her to our house and My male will try to mount for a second then gets down he wont tie up with her, what can I do to make him tie with the female?

You can introduce a decoy dog.  That's another male (doesn't have to be intact) and let him sniff around your female...this will sometimes encourage a male to continue line.

Some males just aren't ready to breed (how old is he?). The alternative is to do A.I.
