Newborn chihuahuas and Mom

Question
My question is My 3 1/2 yr old Chihuahua (Co Co) Had 3 pups on October 19th. I followed up with a vet visit 2 hrs later.
Mom was fine just not producing a lot of milk. She is on a calcium tab for that. However she will not leave the babies to eat or drink, so I'm having to hand feed her in bed.
The Puppies #1 and #3 weights have bounced up and down all week so back to the vet I went but still even hand feeding them with a syringe their weight is that they have gained 1/2 oz each but are maintaining that weight at 3oz and 4oz.
So any advice on this would be appreciated. Also the #1 pup at 3oz I did give some pedialyte for dehydration.
Please e-mail me back any words of advice would be apprecitated.

Answer
Hi Bonnie

Just keep doing what you are doing.  You're female's milk should have come down by now, if not, try one pup at a time on her.

You should be feeding the pups every 2 hours and maybe supplement the dam's food with a broth of beef, heart, liver, kidney and chicken. That may encourage to leave the pups for time to eat.

Good luck
