Question
My Weimaraner had 6 puppies last night.  She seems fine and the puppies are all fine.  However, my question is this - what are the signs to look for that she may still have a puppy not delivered?  Every now and them she will have a cmall contraction and she is bleeding a little bit.  I keep having to give her her puppies as they are crying and she is whining somewhat.  She ate and drank ravenously and when I give her the pups everyone nurses and she will rest.   This is her 3rd little and she is 6 years old.  In the past, she was a wonderful mother,

Answer
Hi Rhonda

If she's panting and still nesting, that could be a sign.  Contractions and bleeding is common, did you witness all the placenta's and afterbirth being eliminated?

Gently take press down on her abdomen to feel for another pup.  You could also take her for a walk to help stimulate anything that may be left.

Good luck
