Question
we had a total of 7 leonbergers and no trouble with them, but the two twin sisters who owned them 1 died than they each owned two. one sister lori was ill in the hospt. and the other sister had the paper work changed and stole her own twin sisters   leonbergers as those were the two best show dogs-Paris and Fallan. well I wish to ask now that she was so heart broken I took her to get a pup at North Shore. so its a cute pup lab, hound with a drop of pit.  it is now starting to go in all different places to pee and poop and the door will be open but she will still come in and go. 50/50 on the paper/ also she is teething and she is starting to bite this we do not want she is apx. 4 mos.  so what do we do about the going to the toilet in the house , even if she just came in from out side she will go. and also when she is playing with me she will be so good than she will lick me and take food from my mouth  than her playing gets into a biting and when she is bigger we will have trouble. I'm in here as a expert too I have 1 spot in chewy and one spot in hot rod/vintage cars etc.just to say those big leos 165 lbs. would take food from my mouth so gently

Answer
Hi Roger

Have you considered crate training her and building her a dog run?

You may have to take her outside to let her know where it is acceptable.  No communication (no petting, not talking) with her until after she's done her business outside.  Then lots of praise and hand clapping.  She will soon get the idea.

If she isn't taught manners, she won't develop them on her own.  Training must start immediately, regardless the size of the dog.  Biting is never, never acceptable no matter what the circumstance and you have to let her know that.

I would start with a local trainer in your area and get her into puppy classes.

Good luck.
