Question
I HAVE A ENGLISH BULLDOG AND MY VET SAID THAT C-SECTION IS NO GOOD THAT SHE CAN DIE AND TO LET HER HAVE THE PUPS ON HER OWEN, SO I CALLED A DIFFERENT VET FOR 2ND OPINION AND THEY SAID THE SAME BUT IM SCARED OF ALL THE THINGS I HAVE HIRED SHOULD I LET HER FREE WHELP OR FIND A DIFFERENT VET?

Answer
Hi Donna. Most breeders of English Bulldogs make appointments to have sections done before the dog is due to go into labor. There's a risk with any type of surgery, but for some breeds, such as yours, sections are often required. I would at least get some x-rays after she hits 50 days to see about how many and if there are any really big ones in there. Then, ask your vet if he's going to be there if your girl needs a section at 3 am. Did your dog's mother free whelp, or did she need a section?
