Question

My new babies! I live in an apartment with a male Yorkie and a female Pomeranian. The female just had puppies 2 days ago. This is her first littler. She is acting very aggressive towards my male dog. She has never done this before. the first night after the puppies were born he was able to sleep in the same room without her having a fit. But yesterday she came out of my room(where her puppies are) to get a drink of water and ended up attacking him.(he is ok). I was wondering if this was normal. and when she will be her old self again with him.

Hi. This is very normal. Mom's don't want other dogs around their pups, especially puppies that are this young. The best thing to do is to keep the male away for now. This will let mom relax and care for the pups are she needs to. It may take her some time, probably after weaning before she will tolerate another dog around them. good luck!
