get pregnant on day 21 st day

I was wondering,my girl came into heat Canada's Thanks giving weekend,on day 8th of her start of heat I sent my male dog to stay with my sister for 10 days,so he can back home on day 18th,when we brought him back home,we noticed he was to excited for my girl,so we alternated keeping them crated 30 min at a time,or we held our girl,he slept with me and my husband for 2 nights,which he cried all night long,on day 20th, he seemed to calm down,so we let him and her loose and kept an eye on them,she was not interested in him except to finally say hi to him face to face because he had been gone for so long,and so i thought all was well and didn't think they would mate nor could she get pregnant,my male had calmed down so much that on the 20th day of start of her heat we let him sleep downstairs in his crate unlocked,my question is could she have gotten pregnant going onto her 21 st of heat?Last week we noticed her belly looked full,she has been cleaning her teats ,her teats look bigger,and this past weekend if i go by her 21 st day she would be 6 weeks pregnant
She is eating the same,some days seems like she wants more some day,i have to convince her she is hungry,her last pregnancy she wasn't a huge eater till after she had her puppies,so I can't go by what she eats or how hungry or not hungry she is
I searched and searched for info but all searches came back that the best days would be 10th to 16th day start of heat,but can get pregnant from the 9th day to the 19th day.They are both Maltese and if she is 6 weeks pregnant,she is bigger then her last pregnancy at 6 weeks pregnant..If it is possible she is pregnant,I am thinking puppies will arrive January 3rd or 4th 2009

Hi Mary

Depending on when your female ovulates, yes she could take.

I personally have a two females that ovulate  between days 19 - 23.  

If you are unsure, I would do x-rays after day 50, the bones will calcify and you won't have to play the guessing game any more.
