Breeding a Pom

Question
I have a Pomeranian cross Lhasa Apso who is four years old. I want to start breeding her but I am not sure how to tell when she is in heat. She has only bled once and this was about three years ago when she was about 7 months old. Is this normal? Also what is the best way to get in contact with other Pom owners who may want to stud their male?

Thanks for you help,
Vanessa

Answer
If she hasn't come into season for three years there is a very good chance she can never be bred.  Females typically come into heat every 6 - 9 months and can only be bred in season.

Before checking for a stud, I would have her thyroid checked.
