Question
I have a yorkie and this is going to be her first litter. her due date is today and i have been reading about the signs of labor. i don't know weather to be worried or not because last night she was showing non of the signs, but this morning she seemed very...out of it, she doesn't want to eat or drink anything. she only stood up once to got to the bathroom and didn't even make it back to her bed because she just sat down and started to whine a bit (this was about 2 hours ago) and once i got her back in her box she just laid down and hasn't moved. ( i have her in a quiet room but i go back to check on her every 30 min or so.) is this normal behavior, this is the first time i am witnessing a litter so i need help.

Answer
Hi Diane. It may be normal for your girl. Every dog goes about it in their own way. However, I would make a call to the vet to see what he thinks, just to be safe. When dealing with dogs and whelping, it's always best to err on the side of caution. Good luck, and please let me know how it goes!
