English Bull Terrier due to give birth

Question
Hi, I have a english bull terrier due to give birth anyday. I've made a whelping box for her as advised. However I'm not sure of the signs of whenshe will start to give birth.
Tonight she started making some funny groan noises and was restless, moving things around etc in her bed. But now she's fast asleep.
If anyone can give any advice it would be most appreciated.
Thanks again

Answer
Hi Daniel -- the hardest part of any birth is the waiting.

The restless is a good sign as is the nesting. Make sure she has lots of old towels and sheets to dig around in. Sleeping is the best thing for her.  When she quits eating that's a sure sign things are moving along.  Also she will have to pee a lot as the pups move down the horn and pressure begins to builds.  You can start monitoring her temperature and when it drops, that's another good sign.

The best thing to boil water and make yourself some tea. Sit back read a book and wait for the magic to start.

Good luck.
