Question
If a puppy gets pregnant and has puppies in her first heat, will it cause her to stop eating as a way to attempt suicide?  I was told this and find it hard to believe.  Please let me know the problems of breeding in first heat.

Thank you,
Lindy

Answer
The problems with breeding young can include, the female rejecting the litter, the female won't fully develop physically and any inherent traits that may be undesirable won't show up until after the female is a year old.

If you dog is eating too much I would have to question a couple of things. Has she been wormed?  What are you feeding her? And what breed is she?
