hi, i have a 3 month old basset hound that we want to breed when she is old enough. what is the age you should start breeding a dog or basset? also she is a lemon and white color and was originally $1200 but the owner ( family friend) couldnt find a home for her therefor she gave her to us for free.if we do breed her how much should the puppies sell for each?

Hi Emily. First of all, you want to wait until your girl is atleast two years old before breeding. This allows her time to finish growing and maturing, and for you to get all of her health tests done. As for the price, that depends on a few things. It depends on your location. Look and ask around. Find out how much the breed is selling for in your area. and second, it depends on the quality of the dogs, and what's in their pedigree.
