Question
HI JOYCE,
I HAVE A FEMALE SCHNAUZER THAT HAS BEEN ALTERED, BUT RECENTLY ADOPTED 2 MORE FROM A SCHNAUZER RESCUE. THE FEMALE IS 9 MONTHS WITH AKC PAPERS, THE MALE IS 7 MONTHS WITHOUT. SHE WAS IN HEAT AT THE TIME I RECIEVED HER AND HAS ONLY BEEN AROUND HIM I WAS TOLD ALTHOUGH A DIAPER WAS KEPT ON HER. BECAUSE OF THE CONDITIONS IN WHICH THE ORIGINAL BREEDER KEPT THEM (IN A PIN)THEY WERE SKIDISH AT FIRST , BUT HAVE WARMED UP CONSIDERABLY. MY QUESTION I GUESS IS I HAVE REGISTERED HER, BUT WITH HIM I WAS GIVEN NO PAPERS SO HOW WILL THAT EFFECT THE SALE OF ANY PUPPIES SHOULD THEY HAVE A LITTER?

Answer
Hi Rachel

It really depends on what people are looking for.  If you are breeding companion animals that will be spayed or neutered it won't make a lick of difference.

However, I am of the mindset that if the dogs were rescued, it would be more humane to have them both fixed and let them enjoy their lives as companions.  If you don't know the lines and hereditary traits of the pair, you won't know what you are breeding and if the offspring will have any health issues because of it.
