Hi, my daughter has a toy poodle that turned 1 year old in January 07.  She is having her 2nd heat and my daughter wants to breed her.  How old should she be?  And also is it best for the male to come to the female's home, or should she go to his?  Help please.  Thanks, Sheila

It really depends on the female?  Is she physically and mentally mature and able to handle a litter?  Typically breeders will wait until after the second heat.  

Depending on the temperament of your female, it's best to bring the female to the male. He will be more assertive and dominant making it better to breed.
