Question
I am curently raising five dobermans; they are nine days old today.

The first born, "Stumpy", hasn't had a bowel movement in over six hours. I was wondering a way to help him. He's in discomfort.

Please help, thanks.

Answer
Hi Kelly Ann

You need to stimulate the pups to have bowel movements.  A dam will do this by licking.

The good news is you don't have to lick.  Take a warm face cloth or rag and rub the anus.  In fact, any kind of rubbing in the lower belly area will help move things along.

Good luck.
