golden retriever discharge before puppy

Question
Hi.  My golden retriever is right on schedule to have puppies (I guessed today or tomorrow) - today I when checking on her I noticed her behind was all wet and she is discharging dark blood - I was looking for a puppy but she hasn't had one yet.  The vets I've called conflict with (oh it's serious and no, that's totally normal).  I've bred goldens for 10 years but for some reason can't remember if it is normal for them to bleed and have discharge before a pup emerges - it's been a few hours, by the way and still no pup (but she's not straining to push or anything and is not acting destressed - I'm more worried that there may be dead pups or something) Please help!!

Answer
Hi Rachel. Any colored discharge before the birth of the first puppy means that something is wrong. Take her to the vet who also thinks it's serious, because he/she will be more likely to take the situation seriously, and help your girl. I hope it turns out well, please let me know!
