Question
i recently came across a 1 to 3 week old pit i took him in. i have only had him for 2 days. i have done a lot of research to say I'm doing everything right. i got him the right formula for his age group, proper bottle with nipple and i just don't know what to do hes just not taking the bottle and when he does he doesn't drink as much as hes suppose 2 and just pushes it away, i know hes hungry berceuses he literally sucks and chews on my fingers he wines and howls most of the time hes awake until i feed him a little and rock him back to sleep and i hate to force feed a puppy that's so young, please help me I'm new to this.

Answer
Hi Gavin

You may need to get a feeding tube for him or put the formula on a wash cloth and let him suck that.

Most pups that young are feeding off their dam 24 hours a day.  How often are you feeding him.  Depending on how much he's getting, it should be at least every hour and a half.

Alternatively you can find a "wet nurse" for him.  A female that recently had pups that you could put him to.

Good luck
