My 2 year old staf came in to season on 5thy september a i am hoping to breed her with a friends dog of the same breed . Every time the male tries to mount her she snaps at him. Is this normal and is there a best time to for them to mate.

Hi Mark. If she came in on the 5th, then that just puts her at 7 days in. Try on days 11 and 13, or on days 12 and 14. She's snapping because she's not in the right part of the cycle to be bred yet, although some girls will snap anyway. Try again next week and see how things go.
