Yorkie poo just went into heat and this is her third heat and this is the first time she is mating since we just got him about 6mos ago and he is a 1 year old  and I just need to know if she does become pregnant what do I need to watch out for and how long after the mating is done will I know if she is pregnant and when will the puppies be born and is there any need to take her to a vet?  Please just give me all the answers you can.  Thank you

Gestation is 63 days after the eggs are fertilized NOT NECESSARILY after breeding.

You will know she's pregnant for certain if you a) do x-rays or ultra sound or b) she has pups.  False pregnancy show all the same signs without the end results.

It's always advisable to have a relationship with a Vet before breeding.  If there are any complications or if the female requires assistant you Vet will be your best friend.
