Bathing & Removing Ticks from Post Whelping Bitch

Question
Our lab is an outside dog, the just had a litter of 5 and she really needs a bath.  We have noticed that she has some of those tiny little ticks on her chest.  I am finding multiple answers regarding the bathing but, none so far on the tick removal.
Thank you,
Geri

Answer
Hi. You say tiny ticks, could they be the type to carry Lyme disease? My best advice here would be to tell you to take this girl to the vet and let him have a look. This way, if they are the type that carry the disease, you won't expose yourself and the vet will know how to properly care for this. I'm begging of you to let the vet have a look before they are removed.
