skin problem after being pregnant

Three months ago our dog was pregnant and went full term but had a stillborn pup the vet told us this sometimes happens. She has gradually been itching her belly and paws more and more we have had her checked for fleas and mites they were negative. She is a yellow lab and her belly is red and discolored. We have tried antibiotics and cremes and shampooing none of this seems to stop the itching. She doesn't want to stop the itching even to the point of making herself bleed and little scabs appear. Do you have any advice to help her to stop itching or what could be causing it?

Hi Wendy. Have you changed her diet in any way? If you have, I would switch her back to her original food. You said that her paws have been itching, this is usually a sign of food allergy. If you have changed her diet, or added anything to it, remove what ever the change was and see what happens then. Another question, have you added anything different to her enviroment? Such as new cleaning product, laundry detergent, ect.......Some dogs are super sensitive to changes such as these, and it causes an allergic reaction. Think hard about any changes that may have taken place. If there ae none, then the next step would be to contact a vet specialized in skin disorders to figure this one out.
