my dog is due to have her litter at the end of dec. was wondering how long
after she gives birth will it be before she goes into heat again?

If she goes in every 6 months, then it stays that same.  For example, you female goes into heat end of October, 62 days gestation takes you to the end of December plus 8 weeks to wean and remove pups = 4 months taking you into February, and coming back into heat 2 months later.

Pregnancy and nursing doesn't stop the cycle.  It will continue you the same as she always had it.
