Question
do you know if craniomandibular osteopathy can be carried in an animal without presenting symptoms or any family hidtory?

Answer
Hi. from what I understand, it's a recessive of unkown inheritance. Means, they just don't know how it's passed along, so if a dog is thought to be present, then it's best to not breed that dog. It's always possbible for a dog to carry a trait without showing symptoms or family history. I don't know if there's a test for that, you can look it up on OFA or PENN, or check out your breed's parent club's web site. Good luck.
