preg. golden retreiver

I have a golden that is due to have her puppies in a week. I also have a cat that likes to nurse on her, will this harm her or the puppies or induce labor?

Hi! I wouldn't let the kitty nurse on her. The puppies will need all of the extra milk that they can get from the start. If mom is already has milk, then the kitty nursing may set up an infection. You don't want the cat nursing when the pups are born either. Cats' mouths aren't the cleanest, and puppies are very suseptable to infections and such when they're first born. I have to say though, that would be something to see! :-) Your girl must be a very patient, loving dog! :-)
