Question
Do you have to be a licensed Vet to open a whelping center? I'm far better equipped than any Vet in this area. Including the Puppy Pavilion which is a puppy intensive care unit. The Vet here throws towels in a dryer and waits for them to heat for a heating source and doesn't know anything other than how to give shots. As long as the people coming to me know I'm not a licensed Vet and sign a waver to that effect I can help people just as a midwife does right? Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hi! I'm not really sure about that. Laws are different in each state and city. My best advice would be to talk to a lawyer and make sure. That would be the best way to make sure you protect yourself. Most lawyers don't charge a fee just to ask questions. This may be a good idea. Good luck with it!
