Question
I have a pittbull that had her second litter of pup's yesterday.  The first litter was over a year ago and she had 17 this time she had 15 beautiful all blue pup's, but I am noticing that with this litter it took almost 20 hours to deliver all of them and she is still panting and has more discharge than the last time.  It's been over 24 hours since the last was born just wanted to know if all this was normal and if I need to change her diet any she is eating 27/11 dry dog food now.  Thank you so much for you help.....

Answer
Hi Robin

Are you certain she has expelled all the pups and she has nothing left inside? If she had a large litter the first time, there is a higher probability of having MORE pups the second.

I would get some Oxytocin in her.  Also, with such a large litter, you should try rotating the pups 3 shifts of 5 and add raw meat organs and/or chicken to her kibble.

Good luck.
