puppys age?

Question
Hi, we have an unusual situation. We brought a new toy poodle male puppy as a pet that was suppose to be 11 weeks old. We brought him interstate and he arrived two days ago. He was alot bigger than he should have been but we are pretty sure its the same puppy we originally brought (from photos etc). We love him so much and are just so happy he is here as the breeder stuffed us around so much. She now wont answer my emails or phone calls. Now the problem is: he doesn't seem to have milk teeth, they are not sharp and overly pointy, he doesn't chew on things like other puppies that are around 10-12 weeks and he has testicles (small) but they are there. We are taking him to our vet but are not feeling very confident because he has previously tried to tell us that our yearling filly was actually two (which she wasn't) So i don't think age is his speciality. We want to get him desexed and we would really like to know how old he is. Does this sound like possibly an older dog? Or an oversized puppy? Any advice would be mot appreciated

Answer
Hi Deb. It sounds like he may not be as young as you thought he was. My best advice would be to take him to a different vet if you don't think your vet can make a good guess. This is the best thing that I can tell you to do. As you said the breeder won't answer your calls or e-mails, that doesn't sound too good either. Find a different vet. Good luck!
