My female went into heat, my male caught her and he had gotten stuck until he calmed down.  He actually did that twice and both times he had gotten stuck.  My other female went into heat and the same thing happened.  Is that normal and will it hurt him if the female had gotten scared and tried to get away from him while he was stuck ?

I sincerely hope that your females are old enough and mature enough to produce pups. Because "getting stuck" is called a tie.  That is what is require to produce pups.  

If a female tries to break away from a male during mating, he can become injured both mentally and physically.
