Stop pregnant dog from jumping on sofa

Hi, I have a Miniature Schnauzer who is 7 weeks pregnant with her first litter and I can't get her to stop jumping on and off of the sofa. I bought her steps, but she won't use them! However she goes up and down stairs to get to my bedroom. Is jumping harmful to the pups, and if so how can I make her stop?

If she did it prior to you breeding her, it won't be a problem.  The problem lies in letting her get overweight and become inactive.

Let her play and jump as usual.  When she gets to big, she may start using the stairs.  But until then, let her be.
