Hi have a toy poodle of one and half years old she has not come into season yet i am a bit worried is there anything i can give her to help or make her come in i have a male and her is getting old and i would like a pup to keep from him thanks so much

Hi Linda. It could be possible that she's had a silent heat. There's nothing that I know of that would bring a dog into heat safely. I would take her to the vet and see if something's going on with her. I have known large dogs wait this long for their first heat cycle, but the smaller breeds tend to come in earlier. I'd take her in for a check up. If everything's ok, you'll just have to wait her out. I'd have her thyroid checked. Good luck!
