My 2 yr old choc lab female is at day 8 of heat cycle and is standing for the male very well.  he is interested and up on her but no visible penis, and no penetration.  He is 5 and sired pups 3 yrs ago.  Any suggestions??

8 days is still early, if your male is experienced then he will know when to get the job done.

Keep them separated and only allow them to be together for short periods of time (15 minutes -- unless a day occurs). A breeding should take place anytime within the next week.
