Question
hi there! my little girl who is a morkie)is preggers with her first litter and due to whelp April 8th..she was eating her kibble fine until 2 weeks ago when she decided that she did not like it anymore.  i have done tons of reading and decided to try the barf diet but she wouldnt eat raw meat..so, a happy medium to me is home cooking for her.  she will eat cooked chicken and scrambled eggs with no problem..so, i purchased a good pre-mix (u-stew from you know better dog food co) and havent recieved it as of yet.  hopefully she will find it apetizing..otherwise, what are my option here? vets say to have them on good quality kibble but i have decided to not force her to eat that (she wont eat the canned either).  i dont mind taking the extra time to cook for her..should i supplement with something else until the mix comes and if she wont eat that then what??

Answer
You don't want to feed canned. ALmost all canned dog food is made from 4 D meat. EWW. What were you feeding?
You can just pressure cook some chicken backs, wings, necks, mix with carrots, green beans, plain all natural yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs WITH shell, about one a day, or just use boneless chicken and you don't have to pressure cook. Add some bone meal , make sure she gets vitamin E, vitamin C , b complex. You can add some fish, sardines are GREAT, and some extra calcium. And voila, great dog diet. I haven't met one yet who wouldn't eat it . Add some unsalted chicken broth if she needs the extra liquids and you CAN use some brown long grain cooked rice as a binder if you need to. You can also add some blueberries if you like.
Let me know how that works for you
