hi there just needed bit of advice as wanting to stud out my male rotty. but dont really know what questions i should be asking the bitches owner if you could help me it would be appreciated. many thanks paul.

HI Paul. First of all, you need to make sure that the females are up to daye on their shots and wormings. Make sure they have had their brucellious testing done. It's a seriously bad sexually transmitted disease that will render your dog sterile, and is even thought to be contagious to humans. Find out what genetic testing your breed needs to have done before breeding, and make sure the females has had their testing as well as your male. Ask to see hard copies of all testing. Make sure that your male will compliment the female, that they don't both have the same faults, and make sure you get in writing what's expected. Make sure you both agree on the conditions of the breeding, a free return service if the female doesn't take, how the stud fee will be paid, what will you do if there's only one or two puppies, ect.
