Dog Breeding and heat cycle

I tried breeding my 4 year old yorkie on May 9th and 12th. It did not work. I just noticed she has pink spotting and her vulva is swollen. Is it possible she could be in heat again so soon?

Hi Deborah. It could be that she's experiencing what's called a split heat. It's when the dog comes into heat, and then goes back out, waits a few months, and then comes back in. The second part of the cycle is usually fertile. I'd take her to the vet for a check up just to be safe, but that's what it sounds like.
