Uno So, I found a pregnant stray in fairly poor shape. She recovered well and had one puppy last night. She's relaxed, clean, no sign of further contractions but had several teats enlarged w/milk. Do they ever have more puppies several hours after the first? Again, NO sign of labor.

In some cases, the time between puppies can be a couple of hours. However, because you wrote that your new mother had her puppy last night, I think that by now she would have delivered more if she had more puppies.
