10 1/2 mo. Chihuahua pregnant?

Question
Hello. I have a 10 1/2 mo. old Deer Chihuahua that went thru her first heat on/about Oct 6th. We were all very careful about where she was at all times, because we planned on getting her spayed. She quit the bleeding about 2 weeks ago, but continued to mount anything with 4 legs attatched to it. Then, yesterday we discovered her outside the perimeter of our yard (and its all fenced;she found a small hole somewhere). Upon getting her back, she reeked a very strong pungent odor like fish/musky, and her backside looked as though she had been "manipulated".What worried me was her behavior. She was shaking and trembling (which she hardly ever does even for a Chi), she had her tail tucked down tight and she looked as though it hurt to walk. After washing her off and checking her out, I finally got her to calm down by wrapping her in a blanket and she finally went to sleep.Since this happened yesterday, she has been very clingy towards me (more than the norm), sleeps alot, hasnt been eating very much and not running around like usual with our other dogs (they have all been spayed/neutered).Today after eating a little bit, she did throw it up on 2 different occasions. She wont jump on the couch to sit next to me, I have to lift her.Could it be possible that if a male did try to mount her , he may have hurt her in the process? Is it possible she has been pregnant longer than I think? Her nipples are still protruding since she went into heat.I had every intention of getting her spayed and have been in the process of saving the money to have it done.I know a vet visit is probably in order, but I cant do that for another week or two because of financial reasons.Im worried and dont know what to do.Dont know if this matters but she only weighs about 6.5 lbs soaking wet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Elaine. Has her vulva stayed larger than it's normal pre-heat size? If so, then most people take that as a postivie pregnancy sign. What could have also happened, is your girl got loose, and a male dog may have smelled a dog in heat, and did his buisness with her. It's happened. If she wasn't ready to be bred, out of heat, ect., or if the male was larger than her, then it could have hurt her. Is she bleeding again? Or, he may not have actually made contact, but scared her. It's really hard to say exactly what happened without a vet trip. What concerns me is that you said she's not acting normal, isn't eating well, and acts like she's in pain. You can call around to the different vets in your area and explain what happened, and see if you can find one that would be willing to take payments. You can also call your local animal shelter and ask them if they know of any vets that would take payments. They usually work with vets and would know. I understand that times are tough, I really do, everyone feels the pinch right now. However, this girl really needs to go, and maybe you can luck into a kind vet that will help. Without seeing this girl in person, it's really hard to say what's going on with her. Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
