another ? about my boxer

I wrote the other day about my pregnant boxer Chloe. Since then she has delivered 7 beautiful girls. The delivery went very well. However, my question now is this....Chloe keeps throwing up. She is eating and drinking fine. She is very attentive to the puppies, leaving only to go outside or to mingle in the living room with us. They are nursing good and she seems in great spirits except for the throwing up. Our next appt. with the vet is in 2 days but I thought maybe you could shed some light on what could possibly be the problem. Thanks Again!!!

Congratulations. I'm glad that all went well. Sometimes a bitch vomits and has diarrhea after whelping. Some people think it's the body's way of cleaning itself out. If she ate the placentas, it could've upset her stomach. I had a bitch that would vomit everytime she licked the pups and made them do their business. Since she has a vet appointment, just keep an eye out. As long as she's eating, drinking, taking care of the pups, and don't have a bad discharge she can probably wait till her vet trip. If she goes off of her feed or drinking the least bit, take her on in to the vet. Check her milk often also. Make sure she has enough, and that it looks like milk. Any off color should be reported immediately to the vet. Since she is vomiting, make sure she has constant access to water/broth. You may want to go ahead and call your vet to see what he says. He may you to go ahead and bring her in. Good luck, and let me know how it goes!
