Question
My female boxer just recently started bleeding on the 21st of this month, and i was wanting to know what would be the best week to breed her? we didnt know how long we had to wait before she would be acceptable into letting it happen.

Answer
Most breeders put a female with a male around the thirteenth day. The best way to be SURE is to take your bitch in to have progesterone screens and a cystology. Then your vet can give you a very good idea of when your best bet for a productive breeding will be. You should also have her checked for any abnormalities like vaginal strictures that could cause problems with breeding or whelping. Be sure to get a current brucellosis on any male you intend to breed her to, even your own as it can be transmitted just through dog urine.
good luck with your upcoming breeding :)
