Lactating Bitch with Hot Nipples

Hi my chihuahua had 3 puppies this morning and she keeps panting and has hot
nipples. Should I be worried?

Hi Chelsa. I'm sorry it took so long to get back to you, and hope this has resolved. If mom is done whelping, but still panting heavily, and the room isn't too hot, then she needs to get to the vet to make sure that everything's out. If something, a puppy or placenta, is allowed to left inside of her, it can set up a bad infection, and can even cause death. As for the hot nipples, are they painful to her? I'd get her in for a check up just to be on the safe side.
