Question
I have two boxers, a mother and daughter, the daughter is 5 weeks pregnant and I am wondering if there is going to be a conflict between the two of them when the daughter whelps.  They are VERY close. Her mother still Mothers her even now, what can I expect when her daughter whelps.  The mother is now spayed. also i test my dogs for EVERYTHING before breeding them and only breed them ONCE in their lifetime.

Answer
Good for you :). It's nice to know that you're a responsible breeder.
Every dog is different. Some of them don't mind their pack buddies, or relatives being near their pups, while some are very protective and not very tolerant. Being unfamiliar with your dog's temperament in general, it's pretty hard for me to guess what she will be like as a mother. Just make sure she has a place to whelp and nurse in private, be prepared for her to have a very protective nature even if she doesn't. That way, all your bases are covered and if she welcomes mom into her baby's lives it'll be a pleasant surprise. Motherhood can really change a bitch in her outlook on the world until those babies are weaned and gone.
Good luck and enjoy that puppy breath!
