smell 8 days post breeding

Hi there, my bitch is 8 days post breeding. She has had some discharge that is normal. She did have a slight metallic/blood/new puppy smell to her. It is not foul or gross, she is energetic, no temp, acting and eating normally. Can this be normal? Is it a sign the breeding did not take place?

Each female reacts differently, some have mood swings, some vomit and some have no change until just prior to whelp.

8 days is still early. To keep track, measure her chest and waist they should BOTH grow steadily if she took.  If it's a false pregnancy, just her belly will grow.
