Question
At what age should breed beagles? Is there an age limit that you should stop breeding? Same question for pugs.

Answer
I prefer to see a dog bred no earlier than two. And as to what age you should stop breeding...alot depends on how well you care for your ladies, how often you breed, how hard the pregnancy , whelping and raising pups is on your girl. Breeding any dog too often and with innapropriate care during pregnancy etc, will shorten their lifespans considerably. A good premium quality dog food , no by products, wheat, corn or soy at least, a good supplement program, excellent health care, keeping her dewormed, on heart worm prevention, her teeth cleaned, vet checked etc all of those things factor in to how well she recovers from having pups and at what age breeding should no longer be an option. I don't like to see a dog of any breed bred after five or six at the latest. At that point they are in about the same position as a woman in her forties and I PERSONALLY would not want to have a baby at that age LOL.
While I realize that there are people who breed their females every heat cycle, and repeat this for years on end, I cannot advocate that. Though I know I can't change it. Both the dogs, and the pups suffer for it in the end.
Best of luck
