How old?

I have a 17 week-old jack russell puppy called Toby. I was just wondering how old he has to be to have puppies with my frind's dog. Both of us and our families are very experienced. My friend's dog is 1 year old. Thank you! Laura xxx

the female should be over 2 and the male should be at least 1. the reason for the age is so they can have all testing done and it cant be done until that time. that way your not making sick puppies or passing along things that could have been prevented. i really hope this helps and feel free to ask any other questions you may have.
