dark greenish brown discharge

My dog is at day 54 since breeding on day 51 she had a dark brownish green discharge. I called the vet it was a sunday, he said she would probably have pups soon.  Still no pups,no nesting, no contactions or sign of labor, no drop in temp but had more discharge last night.  What could be causing this?

Hi Denise. I would take her to a different vet, and soon. Any colored discharge before the birth of the first puppy isn't good. Puppies can't live if born before day 58. I'd take her to the vet, and if this vet says it's normal, I'd take her to a different one. It's not normal. Sadly, it could be a sign of one of the pups dying, or an impending miscarriage. I'd get an x-ray. I wish I had better news for you!
